Purchased this receiver with Sony SS-B1000 speakers to enhance the sound of an older TV. Works great and low cost, plus getting a good sounding FM radio. I just got an HDTV and hook them up to it. Much better sound then the TV.
I loved this receiver but soon after buying it a crackle showed up in the speakers and I couldn't figure out why until last night.It was interference from the FM antenna. If you have this receiver and there is a crackle in the speakers in any of it's modes, it is because the FM antenna interferes with the speaker signal. Unplug the antenna and the crackle will go away, plug it back in whenever you want to listen to the radio. It's that simple.
The sound quality may be good, I don't know, I cut my finger on one of the control buttons and that was enough for me. It went back
I returned it for an exchange and it's been about 2 weeks and I've heard nothing back. When this item arrived, it did not work. None of the buttons on the front worked, tuner did not work, volume control did not work. Hopefully it eventually arrives. Hopefully it works.
My Kenwood speakers still sound good through this very reasonably priced Sony. Bought this to replace a 30 year old Kenwood. It's also complementing a Sony Bravia HDTV. The features are all I need. Very pleased.
